Why the cut-off date matters
Recruitment notices count your age on a fixed date, not on the day you apply. For example “18 to 27 years as on 1 January 2027”. Enter that date in “Age as on” to see where you stand.
Age relaxation
Notices usually add years for some categories, such as OBC, SC, ST, PwBD and ex-servicemen. The amounts differ between recruitments, so use the figures printed in the notification. The eligibility checker applies the relaxation stated in the notice for you.
Boundary cases
If your age is exactly on the upper limit, some notices count you as eligible and some don’t, depending on how they word the birth-date range. Check the exact dates in the notice.
